I built myself a hot pipe out of a table stand that i scrounged in the recycling again(sounds like i lead a garbage life ![]() ![]() The hot pipe and bulb: The cutting of the outline: My bracing template: braces drawn under the top: Beginning of the work inside the box, sorry, this pic is really dark but it's the only one i have, the end block is in, the neck block will follow along with the kerfed linings |

Thanks guy! Peter and Coe, I'm a lucky pup, people here throw out good stuff for lutherie almost everyday! The top with the holes can be explained by me getting mad at one of the tenants here, i was aiming at him but he was lucky my glasses were full of sawdust! Thanks Dave ![]() ![]() |

Hi Al, yeah, it's pretty easy to do as you can imagine with that big flange, i also prefer elctricity because my shop has no windows, the fumes would make life hell in there! ![]() Serge |

Thanks Carlton, Don, Ron, Rossy and Larry for the encouragement, sometimes i wish i had more shop time and more money tho, i'd probably be further in the build but i'm still in the game and it feels like this box will finally take shape soon. Serge..way to go! I like your lightbulb in the pipe bender. It works well? I too, am not to keen on propane. Looks like a good alternative. What kind of wood do you have there in the rosette? |

Serge, looks like you have a good start, now get to work and git-r-done! BTW, I thought you were doing a cutaway, did you change your mind or are you saving that for number three? |
Author: | Serge Poirier [ Sun Apr 30, 2006 4:32 am ] |
Post subject: | |
Yes Dave, i changed my mind for only 1 reason, my rosette would have been too close to the purfling line as you can see here in this pic, i'll know not to make that rosette that big next time! ![]() |
